Police are working to establish what happened
A four-year-old girl has died after a blaze ripped through a house.
Police have launched a probe after the child was found inside the property.
Emergency services battled to save the youngster but she died at the scene on Monday, March 17.
A woman in her 20s and a two-year-old girl received medical treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital.
Both remain in hospital in a stable condition, police said.
Northumbria Police said it was contacted shortly before 9.30pm by Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service about a fire on Kingsley Road in Lynemouth.

A cordon has been put in place at the scene, with officers remaining in the area to carry out inquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Jenkins, the senior investigating officer on the case, said: “This is an absolutely devastating incident in which a young girl has tragically lost her life.
“All of our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“Inquiries remain at a very early stage, and with the support of our partners from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service we are determined to establish exactly what happened.
“We are asking anyone with information – no matter how small or insignificant it may seem – to come forward and share what they know.”
