Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy says she ‘can’t get out of bed’ since his death

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has spoken out for the first time in a TV interview since the One Direction star’s death, as she opened up about her mental health

In her first TV interview, Kate Cassidy, girlfriend of the late Liam Payne, has shared her struggles with grief, admitting it’s sometimes hard to even get out of bed. Tragically, the former One Direction star died last October at 31, following a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

Initially, five individuals were charged in relation to his death, but charges have now been dropped against three, including Liam’s friend Roger Nores.

While speaking to Lorraine Kelly on her morning ITV show, an emotional Kate Cassidy discussed how she’s dealing with the loss and managing her mental health. “I’ve always enjoyed walking, I would consider myself an active person but now I’m going through this healing journey, sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning,” she confessed.

“And it’s something that I don’t want to do.”

She continued, adding a note about her drive to push forward: “I have this responsibility and this obligation that I have no choice. I have to get out of bed and whether it’s a five minute walk or a twenty minute walk first thing in the morning, either way, it refreshes my mind instead of laying in bed all day and scrolling through social media or old photos. It gets me out of bed and really helps my mindset and my mental health.”, reports the Mirror.

Kate is involved with Lorraine’s March4March campaign focusing on mental health, explaining her personal connection to the cause: “I was drawn to the campaign as four is the angel number that Liam and I share.

“It’s called March4March, and the first thing that I was obviously drawn to was the number four. For people that aren’t familiar with the number four, it’s mine and Liam’s angel number which symbolises support and guidance from your angels, and I genuinely believe that Liam guided me to this campaign and wanted me to be involved in this to help other people. It’s something that he wanted me to do,” she explained. Kate also shared her feelings about her angel wings necklace, a piece of jewellery she chose to commemorate Liam.

“It actually is angel wings, I saw it in a little gift shop a couple of weeks ago and I feel like it spoke to me and matches my angel wing tattoos. I wear it quite often and it once again makes me feel closer to Liam,” she revealed.
