Meghan Markle is back on our screens with the premiere of With Love, Meghan, on Netflix following her distasterous rebrand of As Ever earlier this year.

In 2024, the 43-year-old debuted her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, but she made the whiplash decision earlier this year to rebrand it as ‘As Ever’.

The rebrand has come with its own problems, though, something Meghan has admitted herself, saying the experience has been a “learning curve”.

In an interview with People Magazine, she explained: “There are tons of twists and turns — even with the name. I was figuring it out in real time… I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also to be forgiving with myself through that. It’s a learning curve.”

Soon after the rebrand announcement, the mayor of a Majorcan town accused the Duchess of “plagiarism” over the new logo and the settlement’s 14th-century coat of arms.

The Porreres mayor said she is considering legal action over the alleged plagiarism.

The royal revealed the name change last month, taking to Instagram to explain the meaning behind ‘As Ever’, saying: “As ever means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’.”

She went on to explain that it was a knod to her former blog, The Tig, adding: “If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me. This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish – food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.”

According to Meghan, the brand’s former name, American Riviera Orchard, which referred to the area of her home in Santa Barbara, California, limited the products the brand could manufacture to that location.

Despite the significant rebrand, the core products of the company won’t change.

“I will keep sharing behind-the-scenes tidbits with you here as we ramp up to launch, and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on everything we’ve been creating. Sending lots of love…,” Meghan concluded her rebrand statement.
