Viewers were heartbroken to see Martin Fowler killed off in the 40th anniversary live episode

Fans of BBC show EastEnders have ‘worked out’ who Stacey Slater will fall for next.

It comes after the tear-jerking 40th anniversary live episode which saw Martin Fowler perish in an explosion.

Martin – played by James Bye – himself trapped inside the Queen Vic, along with Stacey (Lacey Turner) following an explosion.

Things took a dramatic turn though when Martin was pinned down by a falling metal beam.

As he awaited paramedics with Stacey at his side, he bared his soul to her, confessing his love.

The former flames rekindled their romance and Martin proposed and Stacey said yes.

But sadly, Martin died as Stacey broke down in tears at his side, PlymouthLive reports.

And fans are already convinced they know who Stacey will strike up a romance with next.

The beloved character famously married Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) back in 2007 and had an affair with his dad Max Branning (Jake Wood).

She was married to Martin from 2016 to 2010 and gave birth to daughter Lily (Lillia Turner).

Stacey also had another saucy affair with Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), and dated Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol).

In 2024, Stacey ended up sleeping with another Branning member, Jack (Scott Maslen).

And now fans are calling for a return of one of her past lovers.

One fan said: “Bring Back Kheerat for Stacy!” Someone else wrote: “Yes!!!! Absolutely. Kheerat return.”

A third wrote: “I would love to see him back. Stacey needs him.”

Kheerat was last seen in 2022, and was sent to prison after taking the blame for the murder of Ranveer Gulati, in a bid to protect his mum Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).
