Richie stepped in for the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant on the Beeb as the latest episode aired.
Rylan Clark was forced to pull out of his BBC Radio 2 show last minute this weekend – as Richie Anderson stepped in. BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Richie stepped in for the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant on the Beeb as the latest episode aired.
Richie told listeners live on air: “The reason I’m in is because Rylan’s got the sniffles, apparently. However, our listeners disagree because he’s been spotted a lot out and about this week.”
On social media, fans rushed to give their support to Rylan after his medical absence. It comes weeks after Rylan made a triumphant return to BBC Radio 2, fresh off playing a holiday season pantomime role.

During his first episode back on the airwaves, Rylan cheekily quizzed his co-host Sally Boazman about her romantic life. “It’s up to me to know that and for you to find out,” Sally told him, as he returned with a Basement Jaxx track.
He asked: “Well, I’m trying to find out! Have you got a Romeo on the go? I haven’t! Have you got one for me? That’s what I’m more interested in.” Sally laughed off any ideas of romance—a retort that didn’t deter Rylan from sniffing out the saucy scoop: “Oh, so she has got a Romeo on the go!
“See, honestly, I should be like an interrogator.” Rylan went on and remarked: “If you’ve got anyone for me, just let me know, yeah? I’m in that mood, you know like new year, I wish I had a little texter.”
“Why can you not find yourself a lovely, lovely other half? Because you’re so lovely! “, Sally told him. Rylan laughed: “I don’t know where they are! I smell nice, I try my hardest…” only for Sally to promptly offer words of encouragement: “You look great, you’ve got fantastic clothes.”
“I’ve got a couple of quid, what is wrong with me?”, he said, adding: “Maybe they’re frightened of the teeth!”
