Danny Jones’ ITV I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here co-star Melvin Odoom has shared his thoughts on the Maura Higgins kiss scandal that has followed the McFly singer these past few weeks.

The Radio 1 star Melvin appeared on GMB and was quickly asked to comment on the pair’s kiss after the BRIT Awards.

Melvin said: “It’s none of my business,” before adding that everybody “got on” in the jungle and their WhatsApp had been used to wish Danny a happy birthday last week.

He explained: “The thing is, we’ve all got a WhatsApp group, we all got on in the jungle. The other day, it was Danny’s birthday, we all wished him a happy birthday. In regards to this story, it’s none of my business. That’s all I’m saying on it. I got on with everyone and they were all really lovely, I wish them all the best.”

When asked if he hoped Danny and his wife Georgia Horsley, can overcome this current crisis, Melvin said: “Definitely.”

Melvin’s comments have also cleared up previously speculated that Danny’s jungle campmates may have been divided over the scandal.

During the singer’s 39th birthday, few of his ITV co-stars wished him well on social media, with Coleen Rooney leading the charge.

It left fans wondering if the fallout of the kiss had spread to the jungle WhatsApp group, though it seems the stars kept their well wishes private.

Danny and 34-year-old Love Island star Maura attended the Universal Music party and were spotted kissing one another, with the moment being caught on camera.

Georgia has reportedly moved out of her family home, opting to stay with a friend in London instead.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: They’re not together and she is working out what she wants to do.” The report went on to state Georgia had told Danny: “I need to get away.”

Danny has released a statement on the situation, which reads: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.

“I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”

Maura has not publicaly commented on the situation.
