Boy, 15, stabbed in Great Barr’s Turnberry Park as police launch urgent probe into attack

The scene in Turnberry Park this afternoon.

A 15-year-old schoolboy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed in a Birmingham park.

The teenage victim was knifed in Turnberry Park in Great Barr shortly after 4pm today, Monday, March 17.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital on blue lights.

Detectives said they were in the early stages of their investigation into the attack.

A section of the park was sealed off by police.

It was the second known attack in the park in just over a month after another teenage schoolboy was ambushed there on February 5.

Police said he was set upon by a gang of ten youths who beat him and threatened him with a knife.

On the latest attack, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We were called to Turnberry Park, off Turnberry Road, Great Barr, shortly after 4pm today (Mon) after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed.

“He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“We are in the early stages of our investigation.
