The One Show viewers couldn’t believe their eyes as a famous naughties pop star showed off a drastic transformation on the programme this week.

Audiences were taken aback to see the star, who rocketed to fame in the 2000s, reveal a captivating new style that was starkly different from her earlier image in the music scene.

Social media was abuzz following her appearance, with fans quickly sharing their reactions on X, many expressing bewilderment at her youthful looks, with one fan even commenting they believed she was “25 years old.”

The Scottish songstress, now aged 49, flaunted a daring undercut while her pink lipstick perfectly matched her jumper and nail colour.

The iconic voice behind the smash hit ‘Suddenly I See’ and the critically acclaimed 2004 album ‘Eye to the Telescope’, KT stunned the programme’s audience with her radically altered look as she conversed with the show’s presenter, Alex Jones.

An Instagram flurry of comments ensued, with one viewer posting, “What? Thought she was still like 25,” and another lauding her by stating, “That whole album was amazing and she’s looking very cool.”

The purpose of KT’s visit was to celebrate two decades since the release of ‘Suddenly I See’, reports the Mirror.

Reflecting nostalgically, KT shared: “I have people coming up to me going, ‘I’ve listened to you my whole life. “I’m like, ‘what?

‘It was amazing because the song ended up much better known than me. I remember going to a party and someone went, ‘Oh, what do you do?

‘I said it was the song at the beginning of The Devil Wears Prada, and she went, ‘Oh my God, you’re on the party playlist.

‘I was so lucky to have a song that connected with people like that. “

In January, KT Tunstall opened up about considering adoption, a topic close to her heart as she herself was adopted as an infant.

The Scottish singer-songwriter, who is childless, was only a few days old when she was adopted by David and Rosemarie Tunstall.

As she approaches her 50th birthday, the thought of adopting a child has been on her mind.

Currently residing in the U.S. with her partner Chris Light, she shared her adoption experience with Saga magazine.

“I was adopted along with my older brother, but my mum and dad did have a son after being told they couldn’t have children.

“Mum always joked, ‘Everyone else got what they got, but you got chosen,’ though the truth is you’re always going to have a bit of an abandonment issue.

“It didn’t hit me until late in life. I found my biological mother at the age of 23 and it was really enriching to my life-but tough.

“I had never been able to find my biological father, so I went on ITV’s Long Lost Family, and they did. But he’d passed away. “

“When the programme reached out to my two sisters, they had no idea they had another sibling.

“They broke it to them gently, saying, ‘We think you’ve got a sister you didn’t know you had-and she’s famous’. And the younger one said, ‘It’s KT Tunstall!

“She grabbed my album, which they had in the house, held it up against a picture of our dad, and just went, ‘They look exactly the same.”

KT Tunstall, known for hits like Black Horse and Cherry Tree, also opened up about her own thoughts on adoption. “Adoption does cross my mind. It’s an amazing thing to do if you are a secure enough adult to provide an amazing life for a kid.

“I’m turning 50 soon. Ask me then.”
