Holly Willoughby will not return for the second series of You Bet!, ITV bosses have confirmed.

This is due to scheduling conflicts, forcing the 44-year-old to quit the show before the new season is filmed.

The first series, which is a reboot of a programme of the same name, was co-hosted with Stephen Mulhern, 47, and aired back in December 2024.

An ITV spokesperson said: “Unfortunately Holly couldn’t commit to the dates to host the new series of You Bet!, but will hopefully appear as a guest panellist on one of the shows in the new series.”

Last month, ITV announced that applications were open for the sequel season of the programme.

The original show, which was hosted by Sir Bruce Forsyth and ran from 1988 to 1997, sees a celebrity panel bet on whether ordinary people can succeed while doing an unusual challenge or skill.

The news of Holly’s departure from the programme comes as ITV’s flagship competition series, Dancing On Ice, is facing its end after its last season final aired last night (March 9th).

The skating programme, which Holly also co-hosts with Stephen Mulhern, could be coming to an end as Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean announced they are retiring after their final tour.

Speaking to the Mirror earlier this month, a source explained, “there are real fears this is the end of the road of Dancing On Ice.”

They continued: It’s had a good run for nearly 20 years and has a very loyal set of viewers who really love it but the sad truth is there’s just not enough of them. We need bums on seats but the ratings have dropped to a point where it’s difficult to justify the cost.”

Another source told The Sun: “The staffers on Dancing On Ice are saying the show is over and claim they’ve been told as much,” a source told The Sun. “It’s a mainstay of ITV’s schedule and viewing figures are remarkably less than they were but they still had almost three million watch the launch show.”
