A Place in the Sun viewers were left stunned as a couple made an offer on a property during an episode of the Channel 4 show
On A Place in the Sun, viewers were left gobsmacked when a buyer made an offer mid-show.
The pair in question, Gary and Alison, journeyed to France’s Haute-Vienne region, seeking a rustic retreat with a generous budget of £100,000.
With help from show host Laura Hamilton, their mission was clear: locate the perfect two-bedroom abode that could house Gary’s prized classic cars in a barn and feature space for their cherished pooches to roam.

The adventure started in a quaint village where they toured a property that oozed “character”, which Gary quickly warmed to, saying: “The more we went round the more we loved it.”
To dial up the appeal, Laura unveiled a second home – a spacious four-bedroom haunt.
On entry to the living area, Alison couldn’t contain her excitement, exclaiming: “Yes, yes, yes.”
Despite relishing the ample outdoor realms, Gary admitted feeling somewhat overwhelmed, reports the Express.
Maintenance needs cast a shadow on this rural idyll.
In search of a simpler option, Laura introduced a neat stone cottage – modern, yet missing the distinctive “character” that resonated with the couple.
Both promptly rejected the cottage, with Gary reasoning: “I don’t think I want to see any more.”
Alison agreed: “It’s not what we’re looking for.”
Alison was utterly taken aback upon seeing Laura’s fourth property, exclaiming: “I can’t speak.”
The touching scene played out on Channel 4, where the host comforted the overtly emotional buyer who managed only to utter: “Well done.”

The featured three-bedroom house, equipped with a swimming pool and valued just over £128,000, also included extensive gardens, prompting Alison to remark: “I can’t fault it.”
Meanwhile, Garry chimed in: “It just kept getting better.”
Although they were drawn to the fourth property, Laura introduced another contender that boasted a separate private cottage.
While intrigued, Gary and Alison’s attachment remained with the earlier property priced nearly £130,000.
Deciding to be daring, they made an offer of £115,000, with Alison assertively stating: “If you don’t ask you don’t get.”
To their sheer joy, their “cheeky” proposal was immediately accepted.
Social media was ablaze with reactions; one user declared: “I actually gasped when the offer was accepted. Good for them. Nice couple.”
Comments poured in such as: “Didn’t see that coming! ! Best of luck to them” and “Go on please get it or I will” while someone else praised: “That was a bargain. Well done to them.”
‘A Place in the Sun’ airs on Channel 4 at 6pm.
