Wetherspoon has made a change to its drinks menu across its 900 UK pubs.

The pub chain confirmed it will be running its Spring Beer Festival from Wednesday, March 5, until Sunday, March 16.

The festival will feature a range of never-before-seen real ales from countries across the world – including beer from brewers in Australia, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, and the USA.

There will be 30 real ales for punters to try over the 12-day event at Spoons.

Alongside a range of malt and hop varieties, there will be beers which include cherries and cocoa beans in their ingredients, as well as vegan options.

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be on hand in the pubs and on the app.

Prices of pints can cost as low as £1.69 at selected pubs but most will charge £1.99 for the pint, Mirror reports.

There will be some places where punters will be charged £2.49 a pint.

Punters can also order three third-of-a-pint tasters for the price of a pint if they fancy trying more of the beers on offer.

Marketing manager Jen Swindells said: “The festival is a great celebration of real ale.

“It will allow us, over a 12-day period, to showcase a selection of superb value-for-money beers, including those from brewers as far afield as Canada and New Zealand, as well as those closer to home.

“This festival features five female international brewers, with many of the beers having been brewed, or the brewing assisted, by female brewers.

“Indeed, in the past, most beer was brewed by women – known as ‘brewsters’.

“The event will also give customers the opportunity to enjoy beers which have not previously been available in the pubs, as well as those brewed especially for the festival.”

Wetherspoon has more than 900 pubs across the UK.
