ITV had to mute the Brit Awards broadcast on Saturday night due to a remark made by Danny Dyer.
The actor and former Eastenders star was presenting the international song of the year award, which was won by Chappell Roan for her track Good Luck, Babe!
However, the broadcast went silent when Danny made a comment before Chappell appeared in a pre-recorded video, as she wasn’t present in the audience.
Viewers took to X, previously known as Twitter, to share their reactions to the muted audio.

One user posted: “I’d LOVE to know what Danny Dyer said #BRITs2025”
Another commented, “Not them having to mute Danny Dyer #BRITs2025” while a third added, “Danny Dyer shouldn’t be allowed on our TV screens #brits”
One viewer tagged the Brit Awards on X, requesting Dyer’s return next year. They wrote: “@BRITs could I kindly ask that Danny Dyer presents next years Brit Awards, I appreciate that most of it will have to muted or bleeped out. But wouldn’t it be iconic.”
Later in the awards ceremony, ITV had to mute more of the show during a chat between Dyer and host Jack Whitehall.
The actor seemed to mention Prime Minister Keir Starmer, but the feed cut out again, leaving viewers eager to know what was said.
One viewer posted on X: “I don’t think Danny Dyer likes Starmer #BRITs2025Others were frustrated to not know what was said in the exchange.”
Others were annoyed not to know what was said in the conversation. One viewer stated: “@BRITs STOP CENSORING THE LEGEND AND ICON DANNY DYER”.
It wasn’t the only controversy of the night as Sabrina Carpenter prompted complaints seconds into the show, which was broadcast live on ITV, with her opening performance.
The Espresso singer took to the stage to perform her biggest hits, including Bed Chem, in a racy red outfit.
Her dancers were dressed as Beefeaters as they performed to the innuendo laden song.
The performance divided viewers, who said it would be certain to spark Ofcom complaints.
