Jennifer Young has told how she has a seven-month-old baby girl with the Foo Fighters frontman

The identity of Dave Grohl’s love child’s mother has been unveiled, five months after he confessed to being unfaithful to his wife.

Jennifer Young, 38, revealed she shares a seven-month-old daughter with the Foo Fighters frontman, 56.

The Florida native, now residing in Los Angeles with her mother, disclosed to the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column that their daughter, who carries Grohl’s surname, was born on August 1 last year.

She said she is keeping her daughter’s first name under wraps because “there’s some really angry fans”.

She added that “protecting her identity is really important”.

Grohl, previously Nirvana’s drummer, acknowledged in September that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage.

He said at the time: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. ‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.

“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

Grohl has been married to Jordyn Blum, 48, for 21 years. They have three daugters together, Violet Maye, Harper Willow and Ophelia Saint.

The rock star, who has often been described as a ‘family man,’ has spoken about the importance of his family in interviews throughout the years.

Speaking to TIME in 2012, he said his family ‘changed everything that I do.’

He added: “When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate.

“It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”

Grohl divorced his first wife Jennifer Leigh Youngblood in 1997 after admitting to cheating.
