Police shame M6 driver as six-year-old child with no car seat injured in crash

Police have called upon drivers to ensure any child travelling with them is in a proper car seat following a crash on the M6.

A six-year-old passenger banged their head in the three-vehicle collision on the southbound stretch of motorway.

Officers were called to the scene in Keele and shared an image of the aftermath on social media.

It shows one of the cars on its roof in the first lane of the motorway.

They did not disclose exactly when the crash happened, but added that no one was seriously hurt.

Officers stated that any child under 135cm tall or under the age of 12 need to be using suitable car seats.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “Staffordshire Road Crime Team attended a three-vehicle collision on the M6 Southbound, Keele recently.

“An occupant from one of the vehicles involved had a 6 year-old with no car seat who unfortunately banged their head as a result of the collision.

“Children under 135cm tall, or under the age of 12, are required to use suitable child restraints when travelling in a vehicle. (Luckily there were no serious injuries here).”
