Comedian Josh Widdicombe was the latest celebrity to get a big shock as Michael McIntyre and a film crew descended on his bedroom in the middle of the night.

The Parenting Hell podcaster was unexpectedly the star of the Midnight Gameshow on Michael McIntre’s Big Show, which airs on Saturday night.

The feature sees Michael sneak into celebrities houses in the middle of the night, sneaking to their bedside and then then waking them up to play a bizarre gameshow filled with other famous faces.

Josh’s wife Rose was in on the surprise – and had had a blowdry ahead of the event. But it was not her only preparation for the late night interruption.

Josh shared a detail in their bedroom that Rose had changed before Michael McIntyre and his crew entered.

Speaking on the Parenting Hell podcast, which Josh created with fellow comic Rob Beckett, he revealed: “I didn’t notice until it had happened that Rose had changed our bedside lamps.

“Because Mr Blobby was coming in and she’d been warned that furntiture might be smashed. So they’d sent her some cheap bedside lamps.”

Josh also came under fire from Rob after he revealed he ‘always’ wears his watch to bed.

Speaking about the clip from the BBC show on Parenting Hell, Rob said it was the ‘weirdest thing’ he had ever heard.

But Josh defended his actions, saying: “I sleep in my watch…I’ll never wake up in the night and think, oh bloody hell this watch is a bit much. I have a watch on at all times, except when I’m showering.”

Rob said it was the ‘weirdest thin

The pair then later phoned up comedian Romesh Ranganathan to settle the debate.

He quickly sided with Rob, telling Josh: “That is weird. It is really weird….I think it’s actually, yeah, it’s super weird and it’s a hygiene issue.”

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show airs on Saturday night on BBC One at 6.50pm.
