Snow is expected across England this weekend

Weather forecasters have predicted snow to fall over large parts of England this weekend. Regions around the country could be in for a dusting as the weather remains cold.

Weather maps from WX Charts reveal north arriving at 12am on Saturday (February 15) in the northwest. As the morning progresses, the band of snow is set to move across to the northeast by 3am.

Later in the day, snow is set to accumulate in the East Midlands by 12pm, bringing with it 4cm (1.5in) of snow an hour. Snow is set to remain in the East Midlands until 6pm, before clearing by 9pm.

However the white stuff is set to return to the northwest for a brief period at 6am on Sunday (February 16). However skies will clear until 12am on Monday (February 17), when a large band of snow is set to fall over much of Scotland, the north west of England and stretch down to the West Midlands region and areas of Staffordshire

However once that snow disappears, WX Charts is forecasting that the rest of the week is expected to be snow-free for much of the country. It comes as the Met Office issued a Yellow warning for snow and ice for the north east and Yorkshire areas of England between 6am and 2pm tomorrow.
