12 months free EV Charger Cover (worth up to £72) is being handed out to customers with Charge Anytime or OVO charger install, and one year half price for everyone else. Standalone cover from £3.50 per month offers protection including accidental damage and faults outside of warranty, with a fast response time to keep your EV journeys powered.

This ensures customers are protected if something goes wrong and get a fast response so they can get back to powering their EV adventures with cheaper energy from home in no time. The average standard install cost for a home EV charger is around £1,000.

They have an average lifetime of 10-15 years and potential annual savings of more than £550. Priced at £3.50 per month (with £30 excess) or £6.00 (with £0 excess), OVO’s EV Charger Cover far exceeds standard warranties, ensuring customers can quickly get help and advice, repairs or replacement.

If a charger is under 10 years old and beyond repair, they’ll provide replacement up to a limit of £2,000. For older chargers, there’s up to £2,000 towards repairs or a contribution towards replacement. Alex Thwaites, OVO’s Director of Electric Vehicles, commented: “Our standalone EV Charger Cover means that home chargerpoint owners – not just OVO customers – can access affordable protection and get help fast if anything goes wrong.

“We’re launching with half price cover for a year for all, or 12 months free for customers with Charge Anytime or an OVO-installed EV charger. It’s one of the many ways that we are helping our customers to stay on the road to a greener future.”
