Former Geordie Shore star Scotty T has been handed a driving ban after he was found to be over three times the legal limit for cocaine. The TV personality, real name Scott Timlin, was pulled over in his motor in Kenton, Newcastle, on 18 October last year.

Tests indicated he had cocaine and its byproduct, Benzoylecgonine, in his blood. On 3 February, aged 36, Scotty faced Newcastle Magistrates’ Court, fessing up to two counts of DUI with controlled substances over the prescribed limit.

It emerged that he had 32 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood – tripling the 10-microgram benchmark – and a massive 800 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine, towering over the 50-microgram legal limit. Copping a £330 fine and a 12-month ban from driving, he also got hit with an £85 legal costs bill.

First gracing our TVs on Geordie Shore in 2012, it’s reported that Scotty got the boot in 2018 following a scandal involving a mysterious white powder; however, he says he just snubbed a comeback offer due to the newbies on the show. Now 30, he expresses more joy in his current gig, co-presenting Just Tattoo Of Us alongside Charlotte Crosby, another Geordie Shore alum.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “They asked me to go back to Geordie Shore last series but I said no. I preferred to present Just Tattoo of Us with Charlotte and have a laugh and just be myself.”, reports the Mirror.

“I would go back for a cameo to show my face and remind them who is the boss – but I wouldn’t go back full time. Especially not with some of the new cast, who are just divs.”

In 2019, Scotty confessed that he still uses cocaine, but insisted he’s not addicted. He shared that his drug use began after his rise to fame, leading him to seek help in 2017.

However, following a series of family tragedies, including the death of his stepdad, his habit spiralled once more. He sought help at a clinic in Thailand.

At the time, Scotty claimed he was healthier, but admitted to using cocaine “recreationally”. He previously told The Sun: “I take it on a recreational basis but it’s not a necessity like it used to be. I know my limits…””I know my triggers. Yes I might do it recreationally but I don’t need it anymore.”

During his career peak, he won the seventeenth series of Celebrity Big Brother, competing alongside stars such as Darren Day, Danniella Westbrook, Gemma Collins, and Megan McKenna.

He appeared to form a close bond with Megan, his co-star on Ex on the Beach, but their connection quickly faded post-show.
