Susanna Reid has revealed she will be temporarily stepping away from her role on Good Morning Britain.

The broadcaster made the announcement on Wednesday’s show as she revealed it was her last day for a while.

Susanna, 54, is taking a break from Good Morning Britain over the half term holidays.

Speaking on the ITV show, she said: “I will be back after half term. Good Morning Britain is back tomorrow from six, now it’s time to join Lorraine.”

Susanna is a mum to three sons, Sam, 22, Finn, 20, and Jack, 19, whom she shares with her ex-partner, journalist Dominic Cotton.

Susanna often takes time off to spend time with her boys. Last summer she took them to Ibiza.

She shared on the show upon her return: “This summer, I took my boys to Ibiza.

“I have been going for ten years and it was amazing to really enjoy it with my boys now they are old enough to go clubbing.

“We go to the day clubs together and then I go back to the hotel and they go to the nightclubs!”

It has not yet been revealed who will stand in for Susanna during her well-earned break.

It could be one of several stars who appear on the ITV show including Ranvir Singh, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins.

Susanna, who has previously appeared on BBC Breakfast, Sunday Morning Live, and The Andrew Marr Show, became the face of ITV’s flagship morning show Good Morning Britain in 2014.

She initially hosted the programme with Piers Morgan before his departure in March 2021.

She typically hosts the programme from Monday to Wednesday, accompanied by a rotating cast of co-presenters.

Susanna began her career in breakfast television back in 2003 when she joined BBC Breakfast as a weekend pre senter alongside Charlie Stayt.

She later replaced Sian Williams as a main host in 2012.
